Lloyd A. Hobson

Lloyd A. Hobson, 60, of Springfield, Ind., passed away Wed., June 18, 2014. He was born on November 18, 1953, to Clyde and Helen (Strean) Hobson.
Lloyd retired in 1991 from the United States Army after 20 years of service and had worked at Infinity Molding. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 497 in Mount Vernon and a member of the North American Hunting Club. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde E. Hobson; his mother, Helen Mae (Strean) Hobson; two brothers, James E. Hobson and Norman ‘Tiny’ Hobson; and one grandson, Kevin Thrasher.
He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Evans (Eric Fox) of Mount Vernon, and Jennette Thrasher (Harold) of Katzenbach, Germany; one son, Daniel Hobson of Wurzburg, Germany; sister, Mary Helen Stillwagner (Mike) of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren, Kimberly Thrasher of Katzenbach, Germany, Tristan Kinsey, Gracey Evans and Amanda Evans of Mount Vernon, and Allen Hobson of Wurzburg, Germany; two nieces, Misty Weir (Jeff) of Mount Vernon, and Dorothy Jamison (Kendall) of NC; four nephews, Jeffrey Weir Jr., James Earl (Brenda) of NC, Robert Allen Hobson of NC, and Paul Jr. (Candice) Burgess of NC.
Lloyd will be forever loved and missed by his family.
Funeral services were held at noon on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main Street, Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Mark Tabor officiating and burial in Mt. Zion General Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the noon service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
