Anna Wadlington, 46, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on February 7, 2014, surrounded by family.
Anna was born in 1967, at Deaconess Hospital to David Stockton and Evelyn Staples. Anna grew up in Mount Vernon and graduated from Mount Vernon Senior High in 1985. Anna married Richard Wadlington on September 17, 2005. Anna conquered challenges throughout her life, beating and surviving cancer 22 years ago. In 1997, Anna was the first winner of Posey County’s Relay for Life Courage Award. Anna was active in community outreach programs for the disabled and a member of Salem-Huesler United Church of Christ.
Anna was preceded in death by her father, David Stockton, and stepmother, Marietta Stockton.
Surviving are her husband, Richard Wadlington; mother, Evelyn Staples; sisters, Lisa Loehr and husband, Kent and Karen Stockton; and brother, Eric Stockton and wife, Melissa; stepbrothers, Robert Jarboe, Jon Jarboe and wife, Kim and Jason Jarboe; and stepsister, Shannon Cenci and husband Palmer; sisters-in-law, Ann Wadlington, Pat Wadlington and Nancy Frazier and husband, Jon; stepsons, David Wadlington and Phillip Wadlington; and stepdaughter, Sarah Wadlington; two grandchildren; and 23 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the Anna Wadlington Benefit Fund at any First Federal Bank location. Donation envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
